June 1 – August 8, 2020
Join Owliver for a summer of exploration and fun! Read, write, create, investigate and discover with our summer reading program for kids and teens from June 1 through August 8. This year’s summer reading program is a joint program of Stillwater and Bayport Public Libraries.
How do I get started?
Register online at stillwaterbayportlibrary.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack app. When registering, click on “Register an Individual or Family.” Then create an account and add readers. In early June, registered participants will receive instructions for picking up their Explorer Bags to kick off summer reading. Limit one Explorer Bag per child while supplies last.
How does the program work?
Summer readers can use Beanstack, our new online tool to earn virtual badges, surprise rewards and real-world prizes. Track time and titles read, submit book reviews, and complete challenge activities. Parents or caregivers can create a family account if they would prefer to track their children’s summer reading activities under one account. Earn 10 online badges to receive a book reward starting August 10.
If you will be using the paper version of the summer reading program tracker (available for download when the program starts in June), we still encourage you to register online to qualify for an Explorer Bag, to receive reading recommendations, and for a chance to win prizes.
Will there be special summer reading events?
We are planning online summer reading events and do-at-home/do-outside activities for youth of all ages. Stay tuned to our website, Facebook page and Instagram for updates and activities posted all summer long.
Need help registering or have questions?
Call Youth Services at 651-430-8758 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like us to register your child, we will need his/her name, age, school (optional), and a parent name and email address. If you do not have an email address, please leave your phone number.
Interested in modeling good reading habits?
Join our adult summer reading program! One of the best ways to encourage your kids to read is to let them see you reading for your personal enjoyment. Check out Be Novel – Branch Out, our adult summer reading program. There are fun prizes for adults, too!
