Did you know the library is one place your new reader can build confidence reading to a furry friend. The Stillwater Library has visiting Registered Therapy animals and they love when kids read to them. Call 651-275-4338, ext. 111 or stop by the Public Services Desk next time you are in to register for a 15 minute time slot. This program is geared toward kids ages 5-12.

Join us on Tuesdays at 10:30 am for Toddler Storytime! Stories, songs & finger-plays to encourage the development of early literacy skills for some of our youngest visitors. Format is geared toward children 18-36 months and their caregivers. Siblings welcome.

Read, play, sing, talk and write together with stories and activities to develop early literacy skills for preschoolers. Siblings welcome. For ages 3–6. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Storytimes generally last 30 minutes.

Wednesdays 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. In addition to being fun, coloring has many benefits to child development. Coloring tools and coloring pages appropriate for children and their parents/caregivers provided. This self paced activity will be set up in the storytime room with materials available from 3-6 p.m. each Wednesday.

In September and October, the Stillwater Public Library Gallery will host Digital Vision Quests - Alternative Paths in Search of Light and Digital Images, a group photography show by members of the Western Wisconsin Photo Club of Hudson, WI. 

The Western Wisconsin Photography Club is a group of photography enthusiasts of all ages, interests, and abilities and is a member of the Twin Cities Area Council of Camera Clubs and the North Central Camera Club Council. Meetings are both social and educational and are held on the first Wednesday of every month, 6:30 pm, at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin.  Additional special meetings are also scheduled to accommodate speakers and hands-on workshops and group shooting opportunities.  The public is welcome to attend meetings or to become a member.  For further information please visit the club's web site at

The photographers will be on hand to talk about their work and answer questions at a public reception Wednesday, September 27 beginning at 6:00 pm.
